Comma use to prevent confusion: Use commas to prevent confusion.

 

Commas can tell your readers how you intend an ambiguous phrasing to be read:

The change is good for employees as well, as their families would otherwise suffer.

(Without the commas, someone might read “employees as well as their families…”)
