Active Voice Verbs

Active voice sentences rely on the subject of the sentence to perform the action of the verb in the sentence.

Prefer Active Voice Verbs:  Choose active verbs to make more efficient and effective sentences.

For active voice, put the agent of the action in the subject position of the sentence.

 

Passive Voice:                                                                  Active Voice:

I am excited by your interest in classical music!       Your interest in classical music excites me!

The helicopters are serviced by professionals.          Professionals service the helicopters.
