No Comma between major grammatical elements: Do not use a comma to between major grammatical elements like subject and verb or verb and object.

Most of the people in the room, thought she was joking.  (Incorrect)

Most of the people in the room thought she was joking. (Correct)

 

The scientists thought, the chimpanzee understood English. (Incorrect)

The scientists thought the chimpanzee understood English. (Correct)
