PART I

Think about your personal, familial, or collective story that centers the places that have shaped identity. Such as:

  • ¿Dónde naciste? / Where were you born?
  • ¿Dónde nacieron tus padres, familiares? / Where were your parents, family members born?
  • ¿Dónde creciste? / Where were you raised?
  • ¿Dónde crecieron tus padres, familiares? / Where were you parents, family members raised?
  • ¿Dónde has vivido, trabajado, asistido a la escuela? / Where have you been leaving, working, attending school?
  • ¿A dónde has viajado? / Where have you traveled?
  • ¿Dónde quieres vivir? / Where would you like to live?

After answering these questions, identify 5-10 exact locations of the places that have shape your identity. This can be places of past, present or future years. Like:

  • Países, ciudades, pueblos
  • La casa de los abuelos
  • El restaurante
  • La escuela
  • La iglesia
  • La universidad
  • La tienda
  • La oficina
  • La tortillería
  • El parque
  • Las montañas
  • La ciudad

Creating geotestimonios: For each place identified, think of an anecdote, story, memory considering the following aspects. Write 5-10 complete sentences using the verbs of this chapter in present, past or future tense.

  • sentimientos / feelings
  • olores / smells
  • personas / people
  • experiencias del pasado o del presente / experiences of the past and/or present
  • eventos / events

¡Ahora a crear ese mapa en la cartulina!
