5.7 How to get started with a career using language in the military

Are you interested in a career using language in the military? Kenneth has some advice for those who might like to follow in his footsteps.
Transcript: “A student interested in following in my footsteps, I would suggest that they continue finishing their bachelor’s degree. That’s already half the battle won, having the bachelor’s degree, and you could go on to get your masters degree, obviously. Having that skill would just benefit you more in the workforce. Being able to use your language skills in the military as I did, as a military linguist, you could certainly become an enlisted member as I did or you could become a commissioned officer. Those benefits of becoming an officer, you just double your pay, basically, as an officer over enlisted pay, and you could use your language skills all over the world in other areas of the world, in embassies, working as a foreign area officer if you so desire.”
