Allison mentioned the pay in her last video. What’s the pay scale like in the different jobs she has had?
Transcript: “So, the payscale for the jobs that I’ve been able to have as a result of my degree has only increased over time. In education, I started out making about $63,500 a year, when I left the psych hospital, I was making $72,000, but now that I’m in tech, I make $105,000 every year.”
Since recording this video, Allison has been promoted to Conversational QA Team Lead for the other contractors on her squad. With the promotion came a raise, so she now earns $120,600 annually, and she has full health benefits as well as paid time off. Living in Houston, with a lower-than-average cost of living, that salary goes a long way, but we should keep in mind that any salary and the purchasing power it gives us will differ based on where we live.
Allison added that the company and her team, specifically, are very people-centered. Nobody gate-keeps her time, and as long as she get her work done as promised, they are extremely flexible. As such, she doesn’t really need to use her paid time off time very much. She can step away for medical appointments or other errands and she simply adjusts her workday accordingly.
