Book Description
The OER includes four complete instructional modules, created by the students from this course, that included supplementary teaching materials, and two fully developed classroom activities that engage students in advanced linguistic and cultural analysis through inquiry-based learning. By integrating digital and analog special collections, rare books, and archival materials into the curriculum, the platform provides hands-on opportunities to work with primary sources while developing archival research, critical analysis, and digital literacy skills. These resources promote meaningful engagement with the language, literature, and cultural heritage of Latino and Latin American communities in the United States and beyond. This OER was lead and managed by Dr. Sylvia Fernández and developed by students from the Spanish as a Heritage Language Teaching & Research Methodologies (Fall 2023).
